This is the advice of Guo Ziyi (one of the most powerful generals in China’s Tang Dynasty):

Treat your subordinates well.

Respect virtuous and knowledgeable people even if they hold lower positions. As long as you are morally upright, the Bodhisattva will take care of you no matter what happens.
